What we offer
Strategic advice
Multidisciplinary scenarios for crowd flows, walking routes and bottleneck analysis. We advise, you decide.
Drawing on 35 years of experience since 1991, we provide a complete multidisciplinary system for crowd management. Below the six core pillars plus the operational context at the event location.
LED displays on scaffold
Mobile and fixed LED displays for real-time guidance. Flexible placement, also on slopes. Multiple mounting options: against the scaffold, as a flag, as an overhang above the walking route.
Daylight scenario software
Developed for Daylight LED displays and tailored specifically for crowd management. Insert text in various colours or pictograms, preview directly in the software, deploy within 1 minute.
Point-to-point network
Own dedicated protocol - not a Wi-Fi network, cannot be hacked (4 security levels). Fully independent of mobile providers (3G, 4G, UMTS, GPRS, SMS), municipal networks and third parties.
12 Beaufort certified
Our constructions also survive in extreme emergency situations. The footprint of the scaffold combined with 3 tons of concrete provides wind resistance up to 12 Beaufort - beyond the NEN-EN 13782 standard (80 km/h).
UPS2MOVE backup power
5 hours of green backup power for LED displays, data network, control room, cameras, servers and mobile payment terminals. No polluting exhaust gases, no noise pollution. Flood-resistant (4 m high in the scaffold).
Control room on location
The control happens locally on site from the multidisciplinary control room. The decision-makers determine which texts are shown on which LED displays at which moment. Daylight builds its command post inside the control room so direct consultation is possible during emergencies.
The Daylight scenario software makes it possible to roll out entire scenarios at lightning speed. It is essential that these scenarios are drafted in advance through consultation. We advise, but the policy-makers in the control room decide.
The monitoring PC that watches over the entire network and power supply is also located here. All Daylight PCs in the control room are equipped with backup power.
Map visualisation
The LED displays are spread out across a city or event venue and are not visible from the control room where the programming happens. The map visualisation system shows the texts that are visible in real time on the LED displays. This gives the crowd management team an overview of the messages currently shown on each physical LED.
Message stays in place, even during network outage
The message sent to a LED display is stored on the LED itself (built-in PC). This means no continuous communication is needed between the control room and the LED. Most other systems use continuous video streams. If their network fails, the message disappears from their LED.
We use industrial and weather-resistant components designed for outdoor use that have proven stable and reliable in practice. The industrial data cables are rain- and sunlight-resistant.
Frequently asked questions about our approach
What does strategic advice from Daylight include?
Drafting multidisciplinary scenarios for crowd flows: walking routes, terrain layout, bottleneck analysis and evacuation plan. We advise, the policy-makers in the control room decide. The earlier we are involved, the better the operational plan.
What is the difference between mobile and fixed LED displays?
Mobile LED displays (such as UPS2MOVE units) are rapidly deployable and movable during an event. Fixed LED displays on scaffolding remain in place for the duration of the event and are ideal for longer periods or set placement locations. Both types are centrally controlled from the same control room.
How does the point-to-point network work?
Daylight uses its own dedicated protocol between the control room and the LED displays. No Wi-Fi, no mobile network, no third parties. Four security levels prevent unauthorised access. The network keeps working when public networks fail and cannot be hacked via external channels.
What is UPS2MOVE and when is it deployed?
UPS2MOVE is mobile backup power with 5 hours of green emergency power for LED displays, data network, control room, cameras, servers and mobile payment terminals. No polluting exhaust gases, no noise pollution, flood-resistant (4 m high in scaffold). Deployable as main power or as back-up during grid outages.
Who is in the multidisciplinary control room?
The decision-makers from the organiser, the city, the emergency services and any other stakeholders. Daylight builds its command post in the same room so direct consultation is possible during emergencies. We advise, they decide which texts appear on which LED displays at which moment.
